I would like to ask whether it is permissible to settle in the UAE with only one citizenship by not declaring the other one, and that is because I hold a North African citizenship and EU one, For istance I might intend to follow the lawful visa and settling process as a North African only because Arabs may get UAE citizenship after 7 years in the country.

Is it technically possible to carry out such a thing?

And if not, what does the UAE lose by me not declaring my EU citizenship, if I can't get any benefit with it to begin with?

More generally, can a dual national settle in any other country with whichever citizenship he wants amongst his two or he has to declare them both, or even further, are there criteria to establish main citizenship?

  • I don't know the answer to your question. The answer will depend on each country's law, and what questions are asked in citizenship application papers or interviews. If the applicant is asked to declare all citizenships already held, an incorrect or incomplete answer risks denial of the application if the country applied-to has independent information that contradicts the application. – DavidSupportsMonica Sep 23 '20 at 1:57
