I know that in the US, someone has to leave within a grace period after quitting a job, even if the visa is still valid (for example, 30 days for F1-OPT).

How is the situation in Canada? I have a work permit which expires next summer. It says that I can only work for the employer indicated on the work permit and I must leave Canada by the expiration date of the work permit.

While it is clear to me that I cannot start working at a different job with that work permit, it does not state I have to leave earlier than the expiration date in case I quit the job.
