I’m a non-EU citizen, and I entered Germany with a D-Type Visa.
My visa is valid until February 2021 but I didn't get my residency permit yet. I have visited Foreigners Office 2 weeks ago, and they give me appointment to January.
I started working 1 and a half month ago. Unfortunately I'm going to lose my job soon. Since my visa depends on my job I think it's going to be invalid.
By the way my wife is also a non-EU citizen, and she has a Blue Card.

My questions are:

  1. If I lose my job do I have to leave the country immediately?
  2. May I apply for a family reunion visa directly here in Germany or do I have to go back to my home country to make the application?

Thank you!

  • With a better explanation why a residence permit wasn't issued should be added to the question. You should make an appointment now to apply for a spouse visa at the foreigners office where (I assume) you are already registered at. – Mark Johnson Oct 28 '20 at 17:44
  • @MarkJohnson I have visited Foreigners Office 2 weeks ago, and they give me appointment to January 15. – neross Oct 28 '20 at 19:16
  • Please add that information to the question. They wiil know about you and your wife and will deal wuth the situation directly. There will be no need to return to your home country for a new application. – Mark Johnson Oct 28 '20 at 21:13
