I'm applying for an Australian student visa, and the Australian government's website says that the letter of Genuine Temporary Entrant should address, among other things, military-service commitments. Now I was wondering how would an agent construe this? Is it a plus or minus to be, say, exempt from military service? Of course, in the end, I will be telling the truth, but I might need to frame my response according to such construal.

Thanks for your help.

What Australia likely wants to know is whether your presence in Australia under a student visa might be interrupted if you're called up for military service in your home country. If you're exempt, provide whatever evidence Australia might request, and move on to the next question. Feb 22 at 18:17
