Due to my wife's 88 years old father's colon cancer, she wanted to be close to him and help him. She has had a Green Card for the past 3 years. We know there is a maximum period of time a resident is allowed to be outside the United States in order not to looselose the Green Card. My attorney in the USA told me that if we present medical records from her father stating his condition and also being married to a US citizen, Immigration would understand the reason she stayedoverstayed in Argentina for two years.

Does anybody have any knowledge about this situation? I will very much appreciate it.
