Mar 30, 2015 at 14:27 comment added Jedidja As a matter of fact, if you forget to file the "leavers" tax return, they will eventually start asking why you haven't filed in several years. It is possible to "back-file" it and make it retroactive for the time you left, but you do have to prove that you weren't maintaining any residence in Canada.
