And I have received an intimation that my residence ID is approved for Netherlands. I also possess the belgium residence ID as I will be staying 3 nights a week in Belgium. When I approached the foreign department of my local commune, they said "Je ne sais pas" which translates to I do not know. So I am going to contact the immigration department in Brussels to see if they have an answer. Thank you so much for your help.
Jun 9, 2016 at 15:50 comment added phoog The problem is that a Schengen residence permit allows presence in other Schengen countries only for 90 days in any 180-day period. If OP commutes between Belgium and the Netherlands, there will be more than 90 days' presence in both countries, requiring 2 permits. Obviously there ought to be a formal provision allowing this kind of arrangement on a single permit, but I am not aware of one.
